On Saturday, January 14th, Maplebrook’s basketball team traveled to Forman School for the first game back from winter break.

MBS Coach Michael Brinson reports that both teams were eager to play and set a fast pace early on. Forman showed efficient shooting and rebounding, taking an early lead, and leaving the MBS Eagles trailing 25-9 at the half.

After halftime, the MBS Eagles began to catch up. Jackie P., Ethan C., and Ransom L. led the rally with on-target three-point shooting and effective ball movement. Max S. and Nick S. were key on defense, leading the team in holding Forman to 19 points in the second half. Maplebrook’s 27 points in the second half brought the MBS Eagles within 4 points of the lead.

After Maplebrook’s impressive comeback, Forman just outlasted them, winning a close game 44 to 36. Good game played by all, and good fight, Eagles! Better luck next time.
