The first tennis tournament for Maplebrook against our rival Kildonan was a great success for all.  The rain thankfully held off and it was a windy chilly afternoon.  Despite three of our team members missing, Maplebrook tied Kildonan with 3 full matches each.  All members of the team stepped up their game and had a wonderful time playing and all came away excited about their success and the opportunity to make new friends.  Emma, one of the team captains, won an exciting match as our number one girl’s player and was also part of the winning girl’s doubles team with Julianne.  Senior, Faith did a great job representing MBS in the girls number 2 match.  T.D. had a formidable opponent with lots of long rallies and many great strategic shots and won the number one men’s singles match.  T.D. also was part of the men’s double match with Ben, our other team captain.  Colin in his first ever singles match, did an excellent job playing in the men’s number 2 single match.   Rounding out the tournament were excellent games played by second year member Mason  and first year members Uditi and Mary Clare.   The team is excited and looking forward to playing next Thursday at Glenholme School.
