Affording Maplebrook

Maplebrook School recognizes that many families must plan carefully to meet a full year’s expense Happily studyingof education for their student. We want the quality learning differences education offered by Maplebrook to be accessible to students from a variety of cultural, geographic, and economic backgrounds, and we are committed to working with families to make affording Maplebrook a realistic possibility.

Financial aid is available for Maplebrook students, based on both a family’s demonstrated need and the availability of funds. Maplebrook uses the School and Student Services (SSS) of the National Association of Independent Schools to process our financial aid applications. Please see www.sss.nais.org for more information or to apply for aid.

Applying for Financial Aid

You should apply for financial aid as soon as your student is accepted for enrollment.

Maplebrook School uses the School and Student Services (SSS) available through NAIS to assess our applications for financial aid. Though there is no fee to apply to Maplebrook, SSS does have a user fee.

In addition to applying through SSS, please submit a letter to the Maplebrook School Financial Aid Committee identifying personal reasons or special circumstances that you believe qualify you to receive an award. This letter of request should be accompanied by your most recent tax return. (Note: Do not send tax returns to SSS.)

The financial aid application deadline is March 1st prior to the school year for which aid is being requested. Since financial aid decisions are made on an annual basis, families must reapply for aid each year. Please note that our scholarship funds are limited, and it is best to apply for financial aid as soon as possible.

Cultural Diversity
Maplebrook is committed to maintaining a culturally diverse student body. Towards this end, the Maplebrook Board of Trustees has approved the availability of funds for qualified applicants.
Work Study
Students can work on campus throughout the school year to earn money towards their tuition.

Financial Aid

Jane Fernandez Scholarship
Day students enrolled at Maplebrook School are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Adopt-A-Student
Provides financial assistance to families experiencing financial difficulty during the school year that could result in a withdrawal from Maplebrook.
Equestrian Scholarship
Awarded to students in need of financial assistance in order to participate in our equestrian program.
Samara Grant
Families who pay 100% of the tuition with their own funds are eligible for a $2,000 grant from the Maplebrook School Foundation. To apply for this grant, a letter of request must be submitted to the Maplebrook School Foundation, along with copies of your most recent tax return.
Merit Scholarship
A unique scholarship program created to recognize and reward talent or accomplishment of an individual student, independent of financial need.
Maplebrook Achievement
Awarded to currently enrolled students for excellence in areas such as athletics, leadership, community service, and reaching the highest levels of our RISE Program.

Tuition Freeze

Maplebrook School is offering a tuition freeze for incoming students. Newly enrolled students will be eligible to maintain their starting tuition for the time they are enrolled in the Academic Program. Students must enroll in a portion of the summer program in order to qualify.

Tuition Info

Tuition* for the 2017-2018 school year is as follows:

Day Students (10-16 years): $38,000
Five-Day Boarding: $60,000
Full Boarding: $64,500
The Institute for Collegiate & Career Studies (18-21 yrs): $64,250
Six-week Summer Program (summer only): $9,000

For students enrolling in the year-round program, please add $5,000 to the appropriate school year tuition given above.

*All parents who pay 100% of the tuition with their own funds are eligible for a $2,000 Samara Grant from the Maplebrook School Foundation.

Tuition is billed twice a year; installments are due June 1st and December 1st.

Monthly Payment Plan
We offer a ten-month payment plan available through Tuition Management Systems.

  • You may sign up for automatic withdrawals from a checking of savings account

Loan Program 
Loans are available through Your Tuition Solution, offering low fixed-rate plans for private K-12 education.

  • Allows families to borrow $2,000-$40,000
  • Flexible terms: 18-84 months
  • Low monthly payments – choose the payment that fits your budget
  • No prepayment penalty for maximum flexibility
  • No down-payments or application fees
  • Eligibility: Both for families already receiving fin. aid and those not receiving aid 
  • Repayments to the lending institution are made in accordance with terms agreed upon in advance

Medical Tax Deduction 
Some Maplebrook families find that they are able to apply the cost of attending Maplebrook as a medical deduction on their income tax return. Families are encouraged to consult their tax advisor, and to visit the IRS website for more information.
