Located ninety miles north of New York City in rural Amenia, Maplebrook is situated in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. The school consists of twenty-nine buildings, tennis courts, swimming pool and athletic fields spread throughout its 98 acre campus.
The academic complex contains seventeen classrooms, including a science laboratory, a home and consumer economics classroom, and two state-of-the-art computer resource centers. The computer resource centers are fully equipped with new computers, printers, CD-ROM players, and computer projection for large group instruction. The facilities also include an auditorium, 18,000 square foot gymnasium, bookstore, horticulture lab, woodworking shop and a library containing more than 7,000 volumes. In addition, there are several tutoring rooms, offices for psychologist, speech and language therapist, chaplain, nurse, and other administrative personnel.
The academic students reside in four dormitories, with the majority of rooms being shared by two students. Within each of these dormitories, there are multiple lounge and study areas with access to computers for the students' convenience. A faculty member resides on each floor in the dormitories and all academic students eat their meals in the main dining hall.
Other facilities include a student center, heated indoor swimming pool, weight and fitness center, mail room and school store. Nursing services are available seven days a week and medical facilities including a hospital are located within five miles of the school.
The Institute students reside in three additional dormitories and in an apartment complex on the west side of the campus. These buildings contain lounge areas, laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchens, and dining areas where morning and evening meals are prepared. The students on the The Institute campus have a separate academic building and student center for recreational purposes. Faculty members reside in The Institute dormitories or adjacent buildings and provide supervision and life skills instruction.
The Transitional Living Center is located a half mile from the Main School Campus and in close proximity to the Freshtown Shopping Plaza.
