At Maplebrook School, our innovative academy programs are designed to meet every neurodiverse learner where they are. Using multi-sensory, individualized approaches to learning, Maplebrook provides the right academic setting that is supportive and adequately challenging. We believe in our student’s abilities and strive to enable them to rise to higher levels of academic achievement than they have previously attained.

Our Special Learning Center — Tools That Make a Difference

As a dedicated special learning centre, we equip students with evidence-based tools through our student support programs:

  • Reading Clinic: Lindamood Bell, Orton-Gillingham
  • Reading Plus
  • Wilson Reading System
  • IXL
  • TerraNova Next — assessments to deliver nationally normed, standards-aligned insights that guide instruction, measure student growth, and highlight strengths and areas for improvement across all grade levels.
  • Project-based learning strategies to help neurodiverse students grow through academics, arts, and real-world learning.

Maplebrook Academy Program

The Academy at Maplebrook School is one of the most innovative academy programs available for neurodiverse middle and high school learners. Our philosophy is simple: every student deserves opportunities for project- and passion-based learning. Alongside core academics in math, science, English Language Arts, and social studies, students engage in hands-on, project-based experiences that help them apply knowledge in meaningful ways.

MAPS — The Learning Assistance Program for post-secondary success

MAPS is part of the Maplebrook Academy and supports students by providing them access to dual enrolment courses, transferable college credits, and career readiness skills through the supportive framework of the Maplebrook School’s innovative academy programs.

SEL & social development: the whole student

The Learning Assistance Center not only provides academic support to its students but also provides social-emotional development through the use of games that develop social-emotional learning (SEL) for elementary-aged students as well as structured programming to support the development of SEL skills for all learners. The academic success programs at Maplebrook Academy are grounded in building a complete student.

Maplebrook School believes that education is not the same for all students. The unique needs of neurodiverse learners guide our Academy Program design, so that each learner may grow, achieve, and thrive in academics, creativity, and socialisation. We support each learner’s individual journey through our research-supported reading strategies, project-based learning experiences, comprehensive fine arts curriculum, and post-secondary opportunities through the MAPS program. If you’re searching for a school that understands your child’s unique learning style, Maplebrook School could be the answer to fulfilling their potential.
