Maplebrook School’s Summer Program knows that not all students learn the same and that the summer months can cause a student to lose critical academic skills. Students at the Summer Program benefit from the structure and support; they return to school ready to “hit the ground running."
Highly trained faculty use programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, IXL, Reading Plus and Max Scholar to create specialized classes that will help prevent the regression of key academic skills. These classes will not only interest the student, but will help them maintain those skills acquired during the school year. Through a multi-sensory approach and the assistance of technology, students will gain the confidence needed to succeed.
Afternoons and evenings are dedicated to the fun side of summer. Maplebrook’s Summer Program is an ideal way for students to tap into their love of music, computers, sports, cooking and arts. The latest technology is used to capture summer memories through digital photography or writing a summer blog with their friends. Finally, students engage in those timeless summer activities such as hiking, making s’mores in front of a campfire and participating in our campus-wide color team competition.
We will be holding our summer program on campus and follow our COVID-19 protocols. Despite an adjusted schedule, it will be a massive amount of fun!
